I started carving fish during lockdown... and never stopped.

Hello, I'm Steve Huxley. I moved to South Devon with my wife Katie in 2017 and I am passionate about the environment, working with wood and fish! We are lucky enough to live in Brixham, with the South West Coast Path and beaches on our doorstep. I often find pieces of driftwood when I am down at the coast and some of these have formed the basis of small carved pieces.

I started carving fish during lockdown and never stopped. Recently I have turned my hobby into a business, offering pieces for sale and taking commissions too. My carvings are not limited to fish and I enjoy creating other pieces of art and homeware. Everything I make is unique and I try to use salvaged wood, whenever possible.

I was contacted recently by a Bass fisherman, who wanted a carving of the 'fish of a lifetime' he recently caught. The fish had been released unharmed back into the sea, but he had taken a few photos for me to work from. The finished fish has formed a lasting record and a unique piece of wall art.

Feel free to get in touch with me for a no obligation chat or visit Fox & Company in Totnes who stock my artwork. You can find their location on the Contact page.
